Talofa and for this Activity we had to watch a video about a coconut and the Power of the Coconut !
I had to identify The name of the Coconut and What was it used for, Something that I just learnt about The Coconut Trunk is that they carved it into Canoes.
And another fact that Mr Pete told me is that 100 years ago Fiji didn't have any Coconut tree's until somebody brought them to Fiji !!!!
I made a game using the Samoan Greetings !
Instructions:
Move the white boxes to the sentence you think it belongs to.

For our work today we had to watch a video from Veni's Vlog and we had to make our own Recipe about KOKO ALAISA !
Koko Alaisa is a Samoan traditional Dish that Samoans eat for Breakfast or Tea. This Dish has important ingredients such as Koko Samoa, Rice & Coconut Cream. Its Easy and its really delicous!! So In Glen Taylor School every class has a Paepae ! Are you wondering what a Paepae is? Class Paepae is when we all have maori tasks in the morning so thats when we Do Karakia, Pepeha,Kupu O Te Ra, Whakatauki and Waiata !
So out Teacher picks 2 people to do our Paepae and the first person does the Karakia and the second person does the Pepeha and shares their pepeha,Kupu o te ra and whakatauki.
After all of that we pick a Waiata to sing altogether as a class.
This Year we are learning about IDENTITY ! and Miss Tupou planned this activity for us which is our Koru Art . My Art is not done yet but here is a snippet of some of the art which has Maori Patterns and Samoan Patterns so far !!
Yesterday In Room 11 we made Chocolate Hedgehogs to celebrate Easter ! Making Chocolate Hedgehogs is real easy but it can get a bit too messy . We were put into groups so we can have 2 at a time in the Kitchen and my group and another group were one of the first to start making the Chocolate Hedgehog Easter eggs. When we got it out of the freezer it was real blocked up so we let it sit for a bit so it can be a bit easier to slice up , My group went and gave our Principal a try because yeah he thinks hes the best at everything so we went and he had a taste and he thought it was Delicious but he still thinks that his Hedgehog slices are better !!! :)
I want to thank Miss Tupou for giving us the opportunity to cook in Term 1 !
