For this activity, let’s imagine that Donald Trump called you up and asked for your opinion on this controversial issue.

If Donald Trump called me up I would say please don't build a war because it is going to get way worse for you but it is up to you!

If I agreed I would say yes that's a brilliant idea sir I totally agree.

Fighting for freedom

For this activity, please think about an issue you would protest over (non-violently, of course!).

On your blog, explain the issue clearly and tell us why it is so important to you.

If it was me, I would consider non-violently protesting over the lack of diversity in my local council and health board. I think there should be people from different ethnicity, different jobs, and different ages who represent the city that I live in.

I would do a strike for people fighting for clean water.

Because heaps of children and people die from drinking disgusting water. They don't have that much money to try and provide clean water for their family.

I think people can fund raise and send some money to the poor countries.

Being a Principal

For this activity, let’s imagine that, like Helen, you are hired to lead an organisation. In this case, you are hired to be the principal of your school for one week. How exciting?! I picked Mrs Faalili because has has a big heart and she loves teaching people. She is positive because when she is down she still has a smile on her face but she lets us know first but she just lets it out and she replaces it with a smile.

Activity 2:

Fiao’o Fa’amausili was the captain of the New Zealand (NZ) Black Ferns, our national women’s rugby team, until 2018. The Black Ferns have been a very successful team, winning the Women’s Rugby World Cup a record five times. Wow!

Despite this success, the Black Ferns have only recently become ‘professional’ rugby players who are paid to play rugby. Although they are paid, the Black Ferns make less money than members of the men’s professional rugby team - the All Blacks. This difference in pay is often called the ‘gender pay gap’ and it is not uncommon in sports.

What do you think about this? Is it fair? Should female athletes, like the Black Ferns, be paid the same amount as male athletes who play the same sport?

And why do they pay men better then woman that is so weird because I thought people get paid equally.

Lorde

This week we have high school week and for Literacy I am in Rm 13 Mrs Fonua's class and we are doing summer learning journey. Our topic was Lorde and we had to research about Lorde and make a poster about her and here is my poster!

Using punctuations

Today we learnt how to use punctuation. We learnt what to put first, second and third and I did a little writing! we got a topic and we had to work on that card with the sentences and my Narrative was.

 If you could choose a state in the United States to visit, which state would you choose? Why? Pretend you have traveled to that state. What did you find? Write a postcard telling you family all about your adventure. Make it interesting and exciting. Give details about the things you did or saw in this state.

Karanga (Powhiri)

Yesterday we had a powhiri for special guest that came along and it was my first time doing a Karanga at a powhiri. When Miss Tupou was walking the E.R.O people I was so nervous also E.R.O stand for Education review office. When Miss Tupou walked them tot he deck and when they were in front of me I was so nervous and my heart was beating so so fast I couldn't breath properly. But when I said " E nga mana e nga reo nga hau e wha haere mai haere mai haere mai ra" and I finished I was so happy I got it done. 

Justin Wellington coming to our School!

Yesterday Justin Wellington came to our school to sing to us. Justin as known as J.W sings songs like Iko Iko and Island Moon,  He sang those two songs to us and I would like to thank the group of 2Lelei for inviting him to Glen Taylor School and thank you J.W for coming along!

Summer Learning Journey

Today 2 visitors came to Glen Taylor School and talked to us about Summer Learning Journey! There names were Jordan and Georgia, Room 9 had a session with them and they talked about when it started and finished. she asked us questions and if we got it right we would get lollies,   after going through her session we had a Kahoot and I was in the lead until I just got one question wrong and I went down. The winners for that Kahoot was 1st Ngwe sin, 2nd Josephine and 3rd Savanah, I enjoyed having the session with Georgia and I liked it! and I am happy to do it in the summer holidays!

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Yesterday Glen Taylor school and other Manaiakalani schools went to Sylvia Park and some films got selected to get shown on the big screen. And my groups film got picked to be shown on the big screen, our film was about a boy who didn't do to well on his test at school and his group of friends helped him but it wasn't that easy for him to just click and get everything off by heart so he needed to practice because practice makes perfect.

When me and Pita got up on the stage to do our presentation for our film we were so nervous but the encourage of our school and other people made us happy. even though my heart was running so fast I was feeling some Confident in me. I started talking and did my presentation with Pita we were proud of our self for completing because when we were looking at the other people say their presentation it was nerve wracking because we were timed and we had 35 seconds because if it we did more then 35 seconds the movie would start out of no where so me and Pita was scared but we did it!

Practicing my Lines

Today I was practicing my lines for the Manaiakalani film festival tomorrow because the movie that I produced with my group got chosen to get played at the Sylvia Park Cinemas. For me and Pita we both have to be Confident, have some expression, Face the crowed, Talking clearly and being motivated and having the energy to be Confident. I will try my best and try not to make mistakes but I will probably be alright because we do these things at church! 

Guy Fawkes

Yesterday me and my mum and Jayde is family celebrated Guy Fawkes by lighting up fireworks. First we lighted up a firework that comes up like a very fizzy drink then we did 4 fireworks and it was the same so me and Jayde started bursting out our ugly laughs well Ivanka was crying her head off. We did another one that whistled up in the sky 10 times. finally we did sparklers and it was nice holding it because it was warming up my hands then we went over to my house and had some ice cream even though it was cold. Me, Ivanka and Jayde started play fighting until my mum blasted up some music and we started to dance fight then we danced, singed, fought, danced, singed, fought over and over again. Until Ivanka and Jayde was ready to go home. I went and slept then woke up and showered and I just heard from the news that the Breaking news on the t.v was that someone burnt the Mt Wellington mountain I was so disappointing in those people that burnt it this year and last year but I definitely enjoyed the time when we did Fireworks!

Touch Teams

Today the best school in the world Glen Taylor School went to a touch tournament (Selected Kids) I heard that the seniors and everyone had a good day so well done seniors and middles for completing a hard day today!

Millennium Trip

Yesterday we went to the AUT MILLENNIUM center at the City.

First my group went and changed into our togs to do the water activities we learnt about life jackets then we went into our groups, my group did the kayaking and it was very fun. We first had to flip into the water with the kayak boats so we had to learn how to go to the shore without lifting it and flipping it back up. We started kayaking and it was very funny because we were bumping into people like it was bumper cars. 

We finished our time of kayaking so we went to the water safety lesson and we went on a boat and we leaned back into the water and we had to rescue each other and it was funny because we could barely lift somebody up and that was the funny part people were struggling but at least they tried their best. 

Then we had lunch but first we had to learn about our health and what is best for us to eat and to keep our bodies in a good position. For lunch we had a roll with vegetables and some meat, with fruit, scrog ins and milk. then we went and did our activities.

So my group went to Team Buildings and it was tiring and hot. First we did relays then we went to do some working together and we had five marshmallows and we had to find a way to get across the hot chocolate. After the team building we went and did some rock climbing and it was very scary because the people had to hold me while I was going down and it was scary because you will think that you are going to fall like how I thought I was going to fall.


Then we got ready to go back to school and thank you to all the helpers that came and thank you to Mrs Faalili for giving us the opportunity to go on this wonderful Trip!

Town Fire

Yesterday a fire at town happened at 1:00 o'clock and the smoke is very bad and black and it courses chemicals so the firefighters have to get the chemicals off so nothing bad happens to them. Thank you to the firefighters and be safe everyone!

Sport Prize Giving

On the day before Friday my family went to my brothers Sport prize giving and my brother got a lot of prizes and we are so happy for him!

MUSIC!

Today we learnt about some meanings about Music, first we had to find some postie notes and we had to put the letters together but the letters were in color ordination so we had to figure out the words the first one was Pitch, Tempo, Dynamics, Duration and Ostinato. We learnt a song but it was the tone of Twinkle Twinkle little star and I enjoyed it!

Escape Rooms

Yesterday I went and spend the time with my Aunt and cousin and we went to the escape rooms at Botany and it was very frustrating because we were thinking very to hard but it was fun, so we went in a room and the topic was Sabotage and that is about soldiers and we had to unlock some lockers with number pins on it and it was hard we figured some out and their was only 1 locker left but we didn't make it but we got poles so we added them together to get the office key from this little hole so we ended up getting it so we unlocked this other room and it was an office. We were going through computers and we ended up getting it all right then it showed up a code so we tried that on the last locker and it worked and it had 1 key so their was a closet we unlocked it and their was nothing in it and we were like what? my aunt told me to push it and I pushed it so hard and it opened and that was the escape and it was funny because we were like OMG we can't believe we are out!

Movies

Yesterday me my older brother and cousin went to Hoyts yesterday to watch a movie at Sylvia Park, we watched Abominable and that is a movie about a Yeti but I don't want to spoil it. I enjoyed spending time with my brother and cousin but before watching the movie we had something to eat and it was Mac Donald's. It was very fun because my brother and cousin spoiled me and I enjoyed.

Square Root

I learnt about Square Root and I did a little video with one question that I have answered hope you enjoy!

Today

Today we went to church and we it was all right because not that much people were their and I think because they are too tired to come to church. Hope everyone enjoyed their rest of the holidays!

Concert

Today we had a concert, it was very fun and awesome and I enjoyed it very much. My favorite part was when we did a mauluulu and that is a Tongan dance, everyone loved it because we were confident and we were happy. I was very nervous when I had to do my own dance for the family because it was very nerve wracking to see a lot of people look at me well I was dancing, I enjoyed it and my family said"I DID VERY WELL" so I was happy! I loved it and I didn't dislike anything because it was very funny looking at the kids dance including me and this little boy named Finau Atu was dancing hard out and everyone went and danced with him. We raised a lot for our misinale and we raised like money in the thousands and I am happy!

YAY WE ARRIVED HOME!

We just arrived home and I am starting to miss New Plymoth already! lucky we are home safe and sound! The boys had a tight game today but they didn't win the competition and the points were 14 to 28 so well done boys you guys did very well keep up the good work. It was also sad because the boys are not gonna see each other for a while and by the looks of their faces when we were leaving each other was sad even I was sad because I had to say bye to my friends!

Chiefs

We went to a meeting where all of the teams that were competing the tournament with some Chief workers and they talked about a camp and my brother MADE THE CHIEFS camp and my family is so happy because he made the Chiefs under 17 and we are very happy for him and the other boys that got through well done!

Last Day

Today is the last day of staying at New Plymoth, I enjoyed everyday here at New Plymoth and I hope to come back but we have one more game to go to and hopefully my brothers team wins!

Hanging out with my friend!

Today I went to Bowlarama with the Counties Manukau team because it is the second to last day in New Plymoth, so the team went and played mini golf and it was very beautiful well I didn't go in by the way. My dad and sister went to grab something to eat because they didn't want to stay in the arcade. So my mum was talking with her friend and me ad my cousin were planning to play the games so we each went and asked our mum if we can please use some coins to play some of the games. So I only got four dollars and my friend got $20 dollar coins so we combined it together and shared and it was fun playing the games. First we played a Basketball shooting game that was really fun and our score was 100 and something I can't remember, we played a hockey game and I won first then we were playing the same games over and over then we saw a shooting game when you have to kill the zombies by water and it was fun because their were actually water coming out of the guns to kill the zombies, then we found a shooting so we had to shoot the monster an it was boring because the 2 player gun was not working so it was a waste of money and this other game called the "JURASSIC PARK" and that is when you have to kill the bad dinosaurs. We had $5 dollars left so we played a motorbike game and it was fun and quite boring because it was lagging some of the time we had $4 dollar left so we played the basketball game again and we were versing our Fijian friends and they won and we had $2 dollars left and we exchanged it into $1 dollars so we played the hockey game and my friend and we wanted to play again all of a sudden I found a $1 dollar on the ground and I asked the boys that were next to me and they snobbed me, I looked at y friend and she said "NO KEEP IT" in a slow and silent voice then I secretly slipped it into her hand and she just told me that she had 1 more dollar so we played 2 games and enjoyed then we finished in time for us to go back home and I enjoyed hanging out with my friend!😃

Taranaki Mountain

Today after my brother is rugby game we went to Taranaki Mountain and it was very fun and scary because the mountain was very high and we saw kids climbing the mountain and the mountain is very very tall and scary. Their was so many mountains or islands in the sea, it was very windy and I even climbed up the mountain but their was a point that it came to a end and it was very tiring because the stairs were very big. My mum didn't want to come up because she is scared of heights. I was scared to but I thought it would be fine because my sister and dad was with me. It was very shocking when we saw people climbing up the mountain and I don't even know if we were allowed, after we saw a view of the beach and it was nice because the waves were so satisfying to watch. I enjoyed going to the mountain and I am enjoying it at New Plymoth also here are some photo's of me at the Mountain!
