Myths and Legends Ahoeitu

 For this Activity I watched a video about a Tongan legend named Ahoeitu . This Stoy is about a young man who went and visited his father who was a god and his name was Tangaloa , Tangaloa had 5 sons who were jealous becuase of their young brother so they killed him on the very first day they have ever met because they lived far from eachother. 

They Killed their younger brother Ahoeitu and cooked him up and ate him ! Yes the 5 of them ate him. The Next day Tangaloa (their Father) went on up and checked on his sons to see how they wer doing but since he's a God he witnessed everything that happened but Tangaloa Wanted to see how the sons will respond so he went up to them and woke them up but because Tangaloa is a God they had to be like his servants so tey woke up and bow their heads.

Tangaloa: Where is your young brother ?

One of the sons: Sorry But we Don't Know

Tangaloa: Why are you all lying to me when I witnessed everything !! I want you all to get the kumete,  pick the leaves from the nonu tree, put it in the kumete and vomit out all your spit and blood into the kumete to bring your brother back to life and get the his head and put it inside the kumete !!

When he is back alive I want you all to go back with him to land because he will be your King so you need to treat him like a king and you will be servants to him and it will pass from generation to generation so if you have kids they will serve then same as you. You will Serve Ahoeitu until time has headed to a end UNDERSTAND ?

LCS - Task 4 Family Heritage

HEY EVERYONE ! I'm Glad to be back at school Today because Aunty Jacinda decided for Auckland to move to Level 2 and that means School is up !! . 

For Learn Create Share today I did a Activity named the Family Heritage. It was fun making this but I had help from my classmate Ngwe Sin because I needed help with the meanings and pronunciation with the words. 

Tui Tui (Candlenut)

 In the Kingdom of Tonga in the Ancient times people had no cream and oil like the oil and cream we have now. So they used Candle nut to make a oil to rub on someones skin! If you want to learn more read my little presentation I made for you to read about! Hope you enjoy :)

Listen 2 Reading

For Listen 2 Reading I watched a video about the goddess of Tonga which is Hikule'o! . It was so surprising when I was watching it because i thought in my mind the whole time that Hikule'o was a male. I enjoyed watching it and the ancient Tongan legends!

I would go to Tonga because that's my homeland and if I had to see somewhere I would go and see my Grandparents, My dad's mum is grave and see the Ha'amonga. And if I had to do something there I would go to the Anahulu cave and swim there.

My Dad is from: Kolofoo'u which is placed in the capital city of Tonga which is Nukualofa/Tongatapu

So that means my Family is from the beautiful Kingdom of Tonga.

My culture is special to me because it represents me and where my ancestors are from.

Akilisi Pohiva

Today the Tongan Priminister as knowen as Akilisi Pohiva has passed away today!

Otai,Faikakai & Tokutu

Today Room 9 made Otai, Faikakai and Tokutu for Tongan language week, we were suppose to do it last week but my teacher was not in class so we decided to make it this week.

We separated into 2 groups I was in group 1 and we made Otai and group 2 made Faikakai, my favorite part when we were making the Otai is when me and Kisina were tipping the ingredients into the tin where the Otai was going to be.

I went over to go and see how the Faikakai cooking was an it was awesome because they cooked it nicely and very well and Thank you to Sana for helping the boys, when they finish cooking the Faikakai it looked very nice and delicious.

We finished making Otai and Faikakai Room 9 went back to class but some people including me stayed back to help Sana and Miss V.

Well we were in the kitchen me and Sar Yar Chan made some Tokutu with Miss V so I did the folding and Sar Yar Chan was spooning the batter on to the foil, we finished doing the Tokutu so we slid it to the oven.

Then the Ben K and Tj were making caramel with Miss V, so they add sugar to a pot or a cooking element and they cooked sugar until it turned into caramel.

The people that were helping Miss V and Sana tried the Faikakai, it was very nice because it is nice when we ate it with the caramel sauce.

The whole class came down and we did the opening of our Tongan Shop everybody ate it they loved it and they loved how we ate the Otai with ice cream and crackers.

I enjoyed cooking Otai, Faikakai and Tokutu because it was very fun Thank you to our professional cooker Sana for helping us cook the Faikakai and getting her pots and stuff for us to use, Thank you to Miss V for buying these ingredients just for Room 9 to make Tongan food I had so much fun with you well we were spending time in the kitchen and lucky last Thank you to our wonderful Teacher Mrs Faalili for organizing this for us hope all of us had fun eating the Tongan Food hope all the teachers and classes that tastes the food enjoyed it!

Tongan Treasures

Today we learnt about some Tongan treasures that Miss V brought for us to learn about and why they wear or use the treasures. First she showed us about a Kava Bowl which is called a Kumete so they use the Kumete for a pacific drink that is made out of a root of a tree called the Kava Tree. Their is a story about a King that lands on a island while they are going fishing, they went on the island because the king was very hungry the king was resting well the family were trying to find something for them to eat but on the island there is no animals or anything so they only eat yam. They were going to find the yam but the king was sitting on the yam tree so he had nothing to eat so they had a talk the husband an wife that they are going to sacrifice their daughter for the king to eat so when the daughter went to go and hug the dad he chocked her so she passed away. They told the king but the king said that it is alright but I thank you guys for caring about me, so the dad buried the daughter then a kava tree started to grow where her head was and a sugarcane plant started to grow where her feet was and that is why kava is important to the Tongan culture.

Tongan Language Week

Today Miss V taught us some words in Tongan and sentences. It was very fun because we got to learn the alphabet, the greetings and we got to talk about yourself in Tongan I enjoyed it and happy Tongan Language Week everyone!

Today is the Tongan King is birthday Tupou IV so all the schools and colleges in Tonga is celebrating the King is birthday so they are getting ready to do the march!
