Goodbye Winter Hello Spring

In Room 9 each of us made a poem about saying goodbye to Winter and saying hello to Spring and this is my poem hope you enjoy!

Tongan Treasures

Today we learnt about some Tongan treasures that Miss V brought for us to learn about and why they wear or use the treasures. First she showed us about a Kava Bowl which is called a Kumete so they use the Kumete for a pacific drink that is made out of a root of a tree called the Kava Tree. Their is a story about a King that lands on a island while they are going fishing, they went on the island because the king was very hungry the king was resting well the family were trying to find something for them to eat but on the island there is no animals or anything so they only eat yam. They were going to find the yam but the king was sitting on the yam tree so he had nothing to eat so they had a talk the husband an wife that they are going to sacrifice their daughter for the king to eat so when the daughter went to go and hug the dad he chocked her so she passed away. They told the king but the king said that it is alright but I thank you guys for caring about me, so the dad buried the daughter then a kava tree started to grow where her head was and a sugarcane plant started to grow where her feet was and that is why kava is important to the Tongan culture.

Snap Fittness

Today in  the morning we had a professional trainer that came in to our school and trained Room 9 so we can get fit, healthy and strong. I enjoyed it and my favorite exercise was when we were play in and out because it reminds me of in the river and in the bank. I was struggling on the push ups and the squats and now I am strict with my health right now because I want to be more healthy with what I eat. And thank you Alesio for coming in and training us hope we will see you again!

 

Something nice for you!

This morning we have been doing some PB4L learning. So I made a poster about saying nice things about someone. So if you come to Glen Taylor you will see posters around so rip it off and give it to someone to brighten up there day.

Math Prodigy

For math everybody wanted to play prodigy and I didn't like that math game because I thought it was boring. But when I went into Mrs Faalili is class that is when I loved it so I played and played and I started to get used to it. So I started buying me wands,clothes and changing my style also I brought my own house. I got to battle people that was very high on there level and i got to battle my friends. Now i enjoy it and i want to play it all the time and I also moved up a level and did better in prodigy then what I did last year!
